Camilleri’s new Inspector Montalbano mystery is great

Andrea Camilleri’s The Dance of the Seagull: an Inspector Montalbano Mystery

Based in Sicily, translated from the Italian by Stephen Sartarelli, Seagull is the latest (#15) in Camilleri’s superb series about a middle-aged police inspector who comes across one macabre case after another in the land of the Mafiosi. Camilleri injects each Montalbano story with a marvelous balance of cynicism, humor, sex, thoughts on life and aging, and descriptions of food. Wonderfully satisfying in every way.
